Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 05:00 PM) from Sunday to Friday
Position Overview:
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing facility and is fully responsible for the factory’s profitability. He/she needs to have hands-on-approach to management plans, guides, and directs the factory’s operation to achieve plant objectives while maintaining safety, quality, production output and delivery. Overall, the General Manager needs to handle development, performance and maintenance of the organisation’s manufacturing activities to obtain the maximum efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organisation.
Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and improve manufacturing operations, establishing and driving productiongoals and developing organizational structures
  2. Facilitate strategic planning and execution to enhance the profitability, productivity, and efficiency of the company
  3. Prepare an annual manufacturing plan and policy guidelines to drive the performance of key result areas on production activities and continuous implementation monitoring.
  4. Implement a Plant Performance Tracking System which includes the key performance indicators covering manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, manpower levels and finance.
  5. Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations
  6. Optimally make sure that manufacturing units improve on the standard efficiencies in terms of Machine efficiencies, material yields, labour and overhead costs versus budget.
  7. Regularly inspecting finished products to determine whether they meet established quality standards.
  8. Responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping
  9. Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  10. Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  11. Analyzing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
  12. Enforces all company policies, including safety, production, quality, sales, human resources, customer service and accounting policies.
  13. In addition to the above primary responsibilities, the manager will be required to undertake any other task, deemed to be appropriate to the job role.


  1. Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures in coordination with the Inventory Manager.
  2. Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw materials to identify shortages and analyze inventory data to anticipate future needs
  3. Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels
  4.  Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met
    Risk Analysis and Safety Protocols
  5. Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the company.
  6. Performing a risk assessment: analyzing current and potential risks affecting the company
  7. Building risk awareness amongst employees by providing support and training within the company.
  8. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.


  • Foster good relationships with all internal departments and cross-functional teams.
  • Provides feedback and insight on the performance of the facility and relays them for further strategic development and solution formulation.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as and when required.
    People Management
    1. To delegate tasks as and when appropriate to team members to ensure the effective and efficient running of the department.
    2. Subject to agreed criteria, recruitment, training, set action and targets, appraise and manage performance, development, coaching and general support of all team
    members to ensure targets are met
    3. Set an example for team members of commitment, manufacturing process expertise, work ethics and habits and personal character
    4. The development of staff through coaching, advice, and motivational techniques to help the team to maximize the potential for revenue.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Task Related and Certifications
  1. Master Degree in Business management or Bachelor Degree in food technology or in related fields.
  2. At Least 10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably currently having the same role (GM) in a manufacturing company or at least 7 years of increasing management responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
  • Competencies and Soft Skills
  1. Deep knowledge of production management
  2. Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
  3. Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
  4. Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  5. Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
